About the Artist

My goal is to create fine hand-loomed knitwear that is striking and unusual, yet practical and appealing. I strive to achieve a visually attractive blend of fine yarns, textures, colors and patterns and to create new forms of textiles. I seek to improve continually the quality, distinctiveness, and desirability of my product. I am not interested in mass-production. Rather, I will remain a home-based studio artist producing a limited number of fine garments.

My knitwear and accessories are designed for the sophisticated woman who appreciates wearable art and has confidence in her own taste. Fabrics are created to withstand the demands of travel and provide a flattering drape. Styles range from dramatic to conservative, but are always practical and timeless.

I personally do the designing, finishing, and most of the knitting of the garments featured in my collection. Garments are made individually and many are "one of a kind." I welcome and enjoy the opportunity to fill custom orders in a wide range of sizes. This enables me to work closely with my clients and provide the one of a kind garment or coordinated outfit that the today's buyer often prefers.

Designs and color choices are influenced by my travels abroad, especially to the Far East and American southwest. Patterns continually evolve and reflect my ongoing interest in art and nature. My designs are refined on a computer. I purchase only the finest yarns and, with the assistance of several talented knitters, make all of the fabric for my garments utilizing highly sophisticated studio-knitting looms.
